                      | This painting looks at what Peter has seen already and the things he will see. The place I am painting is a place that I used to play as a child. The arches took a road up over a canal and then a railway... both now gone. One of the arches was very low and had a curtain of ivy hanging over each end. When I used to crouch in there I imagined it was the tomb that held Jesus’ body. This was the first place I thought of when I was planning this picture!
The arches provide a lovely frame for showing different parts of the story and its leafy, watery setting creates a peaceful atmosphere
